We recently held a Flight Dynamics meeting for our members. As an operational group, it is very important for us to discuss with the flight dynamics teams, giving us the opportunity to exchange ideas and keep members updated about SDC operations and future plans.
The meeting was hosted by one of our newest Standard Member Directors, Erika Rossetto, who presented the main features of the SDA, as well as going into detail about the cost and benefit for SSA activities provided by the association. She made the point that the SDA is constantly working, in a collaborative way with several operators, to improve its service provision. This is unique, with no other organization taking this collaborative approach.
We had presentations from a number of our operator members, including Inmarsat, Avanti, Telebras and Star One, as well as from representatives of the Space Data Center (SDC). Topics presented were all related to SSA, and included best practices for relocation, the challenge of deciding on the necessary action when facing a conjunction analysis, and what is being done and needs to be done to keep satellite operations safe with the mega constellations coming.
It was a great opportunity to put several ideas and minds together. If you are a member and missed it, we hope to see you at the next meeting. If you are not yet a member, find out more about membership.
