Brian Swinburne

Brian is currently the Space Surveillance and Intelligence Manager at Airbus Defence and Space responsible for all Space Situational Awareness, Flight Dynamics and Mission Planning activities for the SKYNET fleet of spacecraft which provide secure communications to UK Government and other third party government organisations around the world.  Brian is also the Airbus Group nominated senior expert in Space Situational Awareness.  Born in 1970, Brian graduated in Mathematics with Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Physics from Imperial College London in 1991 starting his career with what is now Airbus Defence and Space in 1990 on an accelerated apprenticeship scheme.  In his career Brian has worked on a diverse number of projects across a broad number of disciplines from software design to spacecraft operations, but has always maintained his position as an authority in flight dynamics.  Brian has also been a member of the launch teams for 13 Airbus spacecraft, often leading the flight dynamics activities.
